About Me
Hi! I’m Rebekah. I’m a writer, self-taught cook, wife, mother of 6, homeschooler and graduate from the University of North Carolina Charlotte. My love for cooking from scratch started very early in life when I started cooking nearly everything from an old copy of the “Better Homes and Garden” cookbook as a preteen. My love for research began in college as I started out studying biology, chemistry, physics and philosophy. I ended up with a degree in Religious Studies, because I also really enjoy understanding the religious components that make up cultural norms and the basis of societies worldwide.
Over the last several years, my family has been on a journey to reclaim our health and it’s been very successful and enjoyable. In our family we’ve overcome some eyesight issues, food intolerances, environmental allergies, chemical sensitivities, ADHD, oppositional defiance disorder, dyslexia in a child and female hormonal issues. We adhere to a traditional diet and and have had nothing but success while eating things like real butter, ghee, pastured lard, pastured beef tallow, olive oil, avocado oil, pastured meats, bone broth, raw dairy and organic produce. The book that launched my desire to pursue the Real Food lifestyle is a book by Sally Fallon: Nourishing Traditions (here).
Thank you for hanging out with me at my online home.
